therapies offered here

You may already have a specific type of therapy in mind, or you may not be sure about what is most suited to your difficulties and therapy goals. We can think together about the best fit for you during our initial consultation and assessment.

CBT, EMDR and NET form the central framework of the therapies I offer, however I may also draw on a variety of other therapeutic approaches (particularly CFT & DBT) during our sessions depending on your needs and preferences.

All therapy I offer is evidence-based, collaborative, and tailored to you.

    Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. By identifying unhelpful patterns and learning new ways of thinking and responding, CBT empowers you to manage your difficulties more effectively. CBT is collaborative, structured and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on implementing tools and strategies to create meaningful, lasting change.

  • Visual illustration of Trauma-focused CBT Therapy at The Reframe Room. Two hands supporting a head that has gears inside to represent memory processing that is supported with care.

    Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)

TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD (CPTSD). Through the process of increasing your understanding of trauma symptoms, learning grounding tools, and systematically processing traumatic memories, we aim to reduce symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance and emotional distress. Through this we also strive for you to be able to reclaim important areas of your life that you hope to reconnect with.

  • Visual illustration of EMDR Therapy at The Reframe Room. Cartoon eyes looking at a hand with fingers pointing upwards, moving side to side, to represent bilateral stimulation for memory processing in trauma therapy.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy aimed at healing from the lingering effects of trauma and distressing life experiences, including symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD (CPTSD). Through guided sets of eye movements (or other forms of bilateral stimulation), EMDR supports the brain in reprocessing painful memories to reduce their emotional intensity, easing symptoms like anxiety, flashbacks and nightmares.

  • Visual illustration of NET therapy at The Reframe Room. Simple drawing of a string with flowers and stones positioned along it to represent events in someone's life story for trauma therapy.

    Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET)

NET is an evidence-based trauma-focused therapy, designed to help process and heal from multiple or complex traumatic experiences by weaving them into a coherent life story. Although an effective treatment for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD (CPTSD), at its heart, NET is about much more than symptom relief - it’s about reconnecting with your life story, rediscovering strength, and finding hope in the chapters yet to be written.
